Disabling System Updates

Hello.
I know there have been many threads started about disabling system updates and I've read through many of them but so far I have not found one that actually describes how to disable system updates and remove the update notification.

I've got a Razr Maxx HD with 4.1.2 on it and I REALLY don't want my phone to update to 4.4.2 since the new update removes the WiFi hotspot ability from the phone.

Google Voice Search has disappeared!

Did a factory reset and everything went well...except, I now cannot find Google Voice Search. The app shows in the Play Store as having been installed, and it also show in the 'manage apps' section. How to hover over a link?

Hope I posted in the right forum. This is more like a question for all touch devices. How do I hover over a link on my phone, so that it will show a whole list of things to choose in that option like I can do with a mouse? There are certain websites that I cannot access on my phone because of this problem, and it really limits my ability to use the internet. Soft Bricked Pixel 2

I was trying to install some custom kernel and then eventually root my phone, however during the process I have soft bricked my phone. It is basically stuck on the bootloader screen.
I tried flashing a number of pixel 2 ( walleye) factory images, ranging from .010 build number to 0.025 build number. However nothing works. I tried erasing all the partitions using fastboot and then flashing all the stock images, nothing seems to work.

Amazon Echo Turned On By Itself

Hello all, new member here. Just wondering if anyone has experienced their Echo turning on by itself yet?

I've had Echo for about 3 weeks now and haven't had any issues until about 30 mins ago. I am the only one home and Echo turned on by itself at full volume playing a radio station. I couldn't turn the volume down manually or by asking "Alexa" to turn it down, so I had to unplug her.

Restoring a recovery log on Lenovo Tab

Hi,

I have recently updated my Lenovo Tab and somehow it has completely wiped all my apps, docs and photos etc. I have accessed the recovery logs through the recovery menu and can view them and see that there is a recovery log for the day before I installed the update. Am I able to restore the device back to this date and in turn restore all my docs and apps etc? If so, how do I do think? I haven't backed any of the documents up to an SD card.

Can’t Update Enhanced Features

On our Galaxy S7, we keep getting alerts to update Enhanced Features. When we click to update, we get an error message.

1. We have disabled certain bloatware. Could that be the reason this update doesn't work?

this morning my internet when out for a few hours. what an inconvenience!!! It meant I had to manually turn on/off my lights, tvs, computers etc and make sure the switch is properly set so when alexa or google home get back online they will work. I'm getting a bunch of spam calls that look a lot like my phone #. They tend to have the same first 6 digits as mine or at least the same area code of mine & my out of state family. Speaker acting weird during phone calls

When I place or answer a phone call and tap the speakerphone right away, sounds comes from the speaker for a split second, but then goes away. If I turn off speakerphone and turn it back on after that, it works just fine. The speaker works just fine in all other apps. Picked up the Tumi Wireless Charging Power Pack for $59 at Verizon. $30 off. The Kate Spade one is on sale, too. I need to get a wireless charger but for now I will charge the phone with it (which in turn charges the Mod).

Apologies if this is in the wrong section, it seemed the most suitable place to post it.

I bought a phone about a year ago from Gumtree (first mistake). It's a Galaxy X Cover 3. I planned to use it for a work phone.

From what I've read, as I'm an iOS user, this is called Kiosk mode I believe as when you turn it on, it goes to a MobiControl screen and then straight to a green screen with an old company app, dialler and calculator. That's all that can be accessed.

My phone keeps locking when I'm using it !!!

When I am in the middle of using my phone, it will just dim the screen and lock ... like in the middle of me doing something.

I tried extending the screen timeout to 10 min and it seems to do it less. Is this some sort of bug where when the screen times out, it just locks regardless of what you are doing?

Droid Turbo 2 Won't Charge, Battery now dead

My Droid Turbo 2 will no longer charge and the battery is now dead. I cannot start the phone up (blank screen) and pressing the power button + volume up/down doesn't do anything. So randomly over the last few weeks people can't hear me on the phone. I can hear them but they can't hear me. Voice to text still works and Facebook calls work it's just the phone app... sometimes turning off WiFi solves it even though I don't have it set up to call over wifi... others it has to be rebooted.. Whites seem yellowish

Does anyone else with an s9+, seem like their whites are on the yellowish side? Doesn't seem to matter how I play with the colors the whites seem to look like that. No, my blue light filter isn't on. I'd screen shot it but may not look like that on someone else's screen. Thanks

I rooted my zenfone 5 and now i cant master reset the stock software

Hi every one. I made a blunder. Not knowing much about rooting phones... i rooted my Zenfone 5. Then further i used an uninstaller to remove some of the third party softwares that i didnt need. All was well util i started to get problems with apps shutting down and all kinda errors coming up. Not knowing what i did wrong, i read instruction to Hard restore the stock firmware which is supposedly installed on the phone all ready.
Steps.
1. I turned the phone off.

Big Brother in India

In Search of a New Case and Car Charger

Why no viewfinder on smartphones?

There appears to be no phone or accessory that provides a viewfinder for a smartphone. It must be a universal experience that the rear monitor is almost unusable in sun. I do a lot of mountain hiking and many of my photos are taken without me even being able to see what the camera is pointing at.
