Fingerprint reader

Well I been using fingerprint feature for a few days now. I find that with a case on the phone its pretty easy to get it to read your fingerprint. I've tried the UAG and ZiZo Bolt cases they both have a defined location for your finger to find, and get on the reader. I think I like the Bolt case is better in this area it really has the location defined in the case, so after a day or so my finger just goes right to the correct location to read my print

Issues powering on Droid Turbo

Okay, so this morning I went to look at my phone and it wasn't powered on. I thought maybe I hadn't plugged it in, wrong. It was plugged in all night.
Maybe it had a bad connection? Possibly, however I should still see it start charging when I plug it in with a different charger. Nothing happened though.
Tried turning the phone on several times and got nothing. The phone itself was very warm, like I had been using it while charging, but I'd only just woken up so obviously I hadn't been...

Android File Transfer stopped working with Droid Turbo

This is vey likely already posted in this forum somewhere, but it wasn't readily apparent so thought i'd post t again.

When trying to transfer pictures from my Droid Turbo phone to my MacBook, as soon as I connect the USB cable to the computer, I get a pop up box that says Can't Access Device Storage and tells me to unlock my screen.

The screen isn't locked. I've done a Google search on this issue, but none of the solutions seem to work.

Update to Nougat on my S7 - Not happy

Just wondering what others think about the upgrade to Nougat. For the most part, I really like it, but the biggest issue I have is the small notification font. Perhaps it is a sign I am getting old, but this is a big issue for me. After talking with Samsung tech support, there is nothing I can do about resolving this issue except wait for another update ... assuming that Samsung will fix this problem. There is no way to downgrade my phone, so really not happy.

S8 reading files from Memory Card

hi all, looking for some support.
I have user who originally had a BB10 with a memory card installed for which he saved Photos and Videos. He then moved to a S7 and Used the same memory card in the S7 the JPEG and Video files worked fine on the S7. He has now moved to a S8 the device see the card and the files but they cannot be opened no matter what app you try. If he takes the card out and puts in back in his old S7 the files are 100% accessible.

Any ideas why the S8 would see the card...

Note 4 hardware falure.

So my note 4 has a problem reading the sim card and vzw is sending me a replacement phone tomorrow.
I noticed lately while on call the phone got really hot (140 degrees) according to an app and started dropping calls and cell service.
This phone is less than 2 yours old and has alot of use, i watch movies on it in bed every night, so I'm thinking this phone was just wore out but it looks brand new still. Thought i would share.

GPS problem - "Searching for GPS" using Google Maps

I started having a really frustrating problem a while back with my Droid Turbo when trying to use the Navigation feature on Google Maps. I lose my GPS signal every couple minutes and get the message "Searching for GPS location". My location doesn't update and then when it does finally reconnect my location starts jumping around sporadically rather than moving smoothly like normal. It makes Navigation basically unuseable on my phone.

Google Messages Won't Send MMS Messages or Pictures

So for the past week, my Google Messages app has been notifying me in app that a MMS (group message or picture message) did not send. It keeps asking me to tap it to resend. I looked at the message details. I am receiving an "Error Code 128". I have not been able to find any information on this.

Furthermore, people ARE in fact still receiving my messages. Also, when using the default/built in messaging app, it does not display an error or concern the message was not sent.

Samsung Galaxy Camera (not phone)

I have a Samsung Galaxy Camera 2.

Email scam appearing as a Calendar Notification

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 that has been behaving strangely in the past few days.

To begin with it was shutting down completely without any warning. I could be browsing through my apps and it would suddenly shut down. This happened several times during the day and ONLY by holding the volume down and power button at the same time for about 7 seconds would it start up again.

Awesome Camera Comparison Video

So, I just saw MKBHD's video blind test on YT. Great video if you would like to see which camera you like the most from the current top end smartphones on the market for now. Just want to share the video for those who are still deciding which phone to get based on the camera it has.



I'm surprised that I didn't gravitated towards the S8 as much as I thought I would. It turned out, I like the Pixel and the Iphone more overall.

I can't type text in any of my messaging Apps. Anytime I tried this pop up,"unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped or messenger has stopped". I tried everything I could, wiped cache data, wiped cache partition, even hard reset my phone but I still can't text.

Sent SMS not transferring to new Galaxy S8+

I am having a problem transferring SMS w/ MMS messages from a Galaxy S6 to a Galaxy S8+.

I've tried this with the SMS Backup & Restore app and also the Samsung Smart Switch app. I've tried to use the AT&T Mobile Transfer app but it keeps crashing.

I am able to backup the messages with either app. However, when I restored, it only restores messages that I have received from other people. Messages that I had sent to the same recipients were not transferred to the new phone...

I have been in IT for a long time but this was my first experience with this problem. The user had dropped their android in water and it survived but the touch screen no longer worked. They mainly wanted their photos and videos off the phone.

Two volume issues with my 6P

Issue #1: People are constantly complaining that they can't hear me when I call them (or when they call me). This microphone issue has been discussed at length by others on the net, with the consensus being that that the problem is caused by the noise cancelling mic on the back of the phone. Drive Mode

Is there anything in this phone that works like Motorola Assist in that you have a drive mode? My Droid Turbo would read messages to me over my car speakers when I was in Bluetooth mode and allow me to reply hands free. switching apps from iphone to droid

hi, total android newb here . after years with iphones i took the plunge and got a galaxy s7 edge .
i used smart switch to transfer things from my iphone backup to the s7 .

my iphone took a swim ,i was able to get it to turn on but the touchpad does not respond ,that said i was forced to do the switch from my computer backup(i dont use the cloud)

i switched my phone contacts list and my apps or apps list it said .

Will anybody be pre-ordering the S8 or the S8 Plus in order to obtain a Gear VR with controller? It appears that pre-orders have to placed by April 20th and I am sure that the "freebie" is limited. This means if the Gear VR will help to justify the new phone, you might want to act early as I am sure that supplies will be "limited"!

I can develop android applications. I want to develop a recipes application. Users will select ingredients they have. The application will suggest food and desserts recipes which can be made with the selected ingredients. Look what arrived unexpectedly for us today!

So I went outside to listen to the rain and thunder as I like to do on a cool evening. My wife walks out and asks "what's this?". There was a box tucked behind one of our porch chairs, no clue what it was. Sure enough, it was our two new Galaxy S8 phones. That ruined my time enjoying the spring shower, but WTH, I got to unbox my new phone. I wasn't expecting it to ship via Sprint until tomorrow, and not arrive until Sunday or Monday. Gaaaah!!! I just "pocket purchased"!!!

I've heard of pocket dialing, but today I somehow managed to "pocket purchase" an Audible book! I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and found it awake and open to the Kindle app with a message that said something like: "thank you for purchasing the Audible version of Armada". A minute later I got a notification from my credit card company about the purchase.

Experimenting with the Kindle app, it wasn't too hard to see how a few random touches near the top of the screen could order...
