What's the most rootable vendor or phone?

I'm in the market for a new phone. I want to root it. I'm sick of every release making it harder to root. Verizon -- where I'm sort of stuck -- is one of the worst networks but I imagine some vendors (LG? Google?) are more friendly to rooting than others. Any recommendation? If Verizon is a lost cause, what n/w is better?
