When Sid Meier re-made "Pirates!", the original of which was on my all time best games ever list (the new one replaced it ) - I wondered if it was a sign of how the industry might be going full circle.

In the beginning, we had simple games, that, short of the 5 minute spectrum 48k tape loading times, were very playable, because they were simple.... such as Elite.

Then we went a bit mad and started having games so complicated you needed a thick manual to get into them.
