Fast Charging Issue... Help me Guys!?!

Ok sooo... I need some help. I think the fast charging is no longer working on S6 Edge Plus. I have "Fast Cable Charging" enabled and I am using the appropriate charger for the job.
Now when I go into settings and turn fast charging off I get the same approx time to full message in my notifications. I've also realized that I am no longer getting the fast charging notification. How do I figure out if this is a defective issue or something that I have unknowingly disabled
