Predictive Text

My galaxy s8 received a verizon update the other day....since then when my texts pop up on the lock screen (I allow them to show so I don't have to unlock the phone to read/answer) there is no predictive text. Same issue if I go into a contact and tap to text them from there. The ONLY way I am seeing predictive text is if I actually open the verizon messages app and text from there. A royal pain.
