Root Guidance for LG Optimus Zone 3

Bought the phone strictly for wifi use at a discount store... Not Verizon although it launches to a Verizon panel.. Went through the steps as I have done for other phones with no issues. Apps and features have progressively disappeared making the phone virtually useless. Never rooted a phone before but have heard of "Root King". If this is the preferred app what would be the authentic download site? Guidance sought
