Why do we get motion sickness with VR

I have been on a VR kick the past few days to the point I am sure my fellow staff members are edging me on to another subject. But I know Christmas is around the corner and some of you may find that you may have such a toy under the tree. Well in the midst of enjoying VR you may find yourself getting a little nauseous and that is quite normal. So the point of this thread is to post a few ways to help with that with various VR headsets.
