Slow Speeds Over Tether

I have a google pixel 3 XL and use pdanet for my tethering, so on speedtest I can easily get 80mbps (im not connected to wifi, just cellular), however when using usb c to usb c directly to my motherboard, on pdanet I only get 30mbps max. Now I am not sure about tethering with my actual tethering in settings, I will have to try that, but point is, what could be causing this slowdown, any way to increase speed?
