Backups - why bother?

If the only thing we're backing up is apk files, why bother? I can make copies of photos and videos direct to the computer. But if you can't backup data, what's the point? Is there any backup software out there that will back up the apk files AND the data that app creates?

Remember this choice problem

When hitting the green phone icon on any contact that has multiple numbers, a popup appears with the list of all the contact's numbers and an option to check "Remember this choice". I checked this, and now every time I go back and call that person, it automatically remembers the number and dials it, just as expected.

For curiosity sake, does anyone know how to disable the "Remember this choice"? I can't seem to find this anywhere.

KVM switch for LG G6

Does anyone know if a KVM switch will work to output video to a DP computer monitor? I don't know if they make a KVM switch with a DP connection or not. If they do, can I use my phone along with an HDMI to DP converter? If I get one with HDMI, will a HDMI to DP converter allow me to operate my LG G6 with a USB mouse and keyboard and view it on my computer screen? If so, then how will I plug the DP cable from my tower into the KVM switch?

Glass Screen Protectors?

've read a bunch of the threads on "to use or not use screen protectors" and have decided not to temp Murphy's Law so am looking for a good screen protector.

That said, I am not familiar with "Glass" screen protectors. I know they are super pricey, but coming from a Zagg that kept my bionic safe through MANY drops as well as free replacements, I have no issue paying for a good one.
I do use my S pen at times so do not want creases that are reported in cheap covers.

I've been using MailDroid Pro for a long long time with absolutely no problems on my GS 8+ until a couple of weeks ago at which point it's gone really bad...like milk left outside the fridge.

First, it will no longer open PDF attachments to emails (this is a damned disaster for me as all of the attachments to business emails are all PDFs.

verizon hotspot workaround?

I had to replace my Moto X pure edition. I went to the Moto Z2 Force. With the X, I was able to use the hotspot without a subscription. To use it with the new phone, they want to charge me $30/month. I am on an older unlimited plan that I do want to change from. The new unlimited plans are closer to matching what I get on the old plan. Is there any way to get around Verizon's fee and use the hotspot?

Hide app (with no icon in drawer) from App Manager

Hi,

Trying to hide an app that has no drawer icon from the app manager list. Programs like Hide-it-Pro hide apps with icons from both app drawer and app manager, but with no icon, it doesn't list the app as a hide option.

Target device is rooted (supsersu 2.82 sr5 sbin systemless)

I have tried creating a home screen shortcut (nova launcher, for example) but that still doesn't show up as a hideable app.

MMS messaging fail

Looking for help. Unlocked verizon S7 Edge on ATT network. SMS texting works but cannot send or receive MMS messages. 1.5 hours on the phone with ATT changing APN values and other assorted things to no avail.

Since we don't have a section for the Z2 Play, I will post here. Oh, no! I dropped my phone and killed it....

Okay, so I really didn't panic when I dropped my phone on a concrete floor because of this awesome screen the Z Force has.. Well, the screen looks great, but it won't come on. I've got power there because I can feel that little vibration when I touch the fingerprint reader, but nothing happens. Camera ZOOM FX pics taken do not appear in folder

I have the free version and it has worked flawlessly storing pics in the CameraZoom folder in my Galaxy S4 memory.

Today, it stopped storing pics taken. The camera seems to work but if you look at the small thumbnail in the lower LH corner, it keeps showing the last pic in the folder - the pic just taken does not appear as a thumbnail. (Note: you click the thumbnail to view/edit/etc. the pic just taken.

APK not Installed Help

Hello all, ive just rooted my Samsung Note4 and I can tell you its been very hard to do but its all sorted now, my only issue is that when I try and install Showbox APK it comes up with App not installed the package appears to be corrupt, the APK is not corrupt as I have put the same one on my S5, and had this one on this phone before I rooted it,, ive tried zipsigner and apk editor and both have failed top install the apk ,, so it must be something to do with the root,, any help please...
