Bluetooth Aggravation in Note 5 - help please!

My phone is attempting to connect by bluetooth with a phantom device (my old car) every 20-30 seconds. It rings a tone and shows me a notification that it cannot connect. I cannot find the pairing in the list of devices and I cannot make it stop! If I shut off bluetooth, the behavior stops. Only when I have turned it on that this is occurring, so I know it's a bluetooth problem. I have cleared the cache and reset the device several times.
