Lock Screen doesn't

I have the LG V30. The lock screen requires a pin or fingerprint. When carried in my pocket it had started unlocking itself and doing strange things - resetting the alarm, opening the mail and trying to write letters, turning music on, etc. Yesterday it outdid itself. It did a factory reset. How is this even possible? This is my fourth lg, but at the moment it's my last!
