Is it possible my otg cables corrupted my usb drives?

I used galaxy s7 by the way. I'm assuming that my otg cables I ordered from amazon are garbage. These K-Smile micro usb 2.0 otg cables corrupted my usb drives especially my lexar 128gb drive. So is it possible then? What otg cable do you folks use for galaxy s7 etc?
