Navigation button area not responsive while in fullscreen mode

Hello guys, I have this pretty frustrating problem on my HTC One M9 ( Android 6.0 / HTC Sense 7.0).

Whenever I go in fullscreen-mode, say a game or anything else, the area where the bar is fades out and you see the normal fullscreen.

The problem though is that in that area where the bar would be the touchscreen is unresponsive for about 0.5-1.5 seconds until it recognizes the motion. And the same happens if I flip the phone so the bar would be...
